Lovely Lace

Dressing in lace and thinly strapped heels for a Medical Gala Night, I consider this appropriate for these kind of occasion. It's very similar to "Lover" the label french lace designs, and the best part is buying a nice dress for a bargain, this is a Portmans Lovely Lace dress, RRP is currently $129.95, it was on special for $65 because the zipper was broken, then Portmans DFO Essendon Store had a further 50% off sale on faulty items a few weeks ago.... my final bill was $32.50!

My mum has her own alteration business hence I'm always inclined to buy faulty bargains, because I get things fixed free of charge, though it does take a while to get it back into my wardrobe.

These size 5 Sandal heels from Windsor Smith were also the last pair in store so I got it for $25!

All in all bargains are not hard to find, but you got to be patient, seek and you shall find.

Vietnam Airlines Business Class

Want a little taste of Vietnam? I'll be updating my blog with photos of my experience, from flight to food to other randomness.
Welcome aboard to Vietnam Airlines Business Class.

Lets talk about the cost of these airfares, the usual price range from $700 (off peak) to $1500 (peak season) on economy class, so it seems ridiculous to spend over $3k for an 8 hr return trip from Melbourne to Saigon on Business class. Have you heard of OPTIONTOWN? Optiontown is a site where you can upgrade from "economy" to "business" class on various airlines (including Vietnam Airlines). It cost approximately $300-$500 each away to upgrade (double for return cost) on top of the original airfares you paid for. For example, on off peak season you pay $700 (economy class) + $600 (optiontown upgrade return) = $1300 for a Business class seat through Optiontown. Personally I think this is a fantastic find, especially when you are going on a honeymoon or a special occasion and you want to be treated like royalty at a fraction of the original price. Is there a catch? Yes but no biggy:
  1. Once you have your economy airfares, go onto Optiontown, fill in the blanks (including the PNR # on your ticket) then press show upgrade... prices and seats availability will show up. After payments are made, there will be a confirmation of your debit. However Optiontown does not guarantee customers a seat until the date of departure, if there is no available seats money will be reimburse into your account. That has never happened to me so I'm sure it won't happen to you
  2. Business class customers usually get 40kg of luggages whereas economy are only allowed 30kg on Vietnam Airlines, hence upgrading your seat on Optiontown does not mean you can get that extra 10kg. Remember to pack under 30kg even if you purchase an upgrade on Optiontown
  3. Business class customers have access to business lounge, even though you've got the upgrade, you have NO access into the business lounge.
  4. You will get a front of line pass, so when going through customs you can go into all express lanes without queuing.
  5. When checking in, just wait at the designated gate, and listen up for your name on the overhead speakers. Once your name is called, go to the gate front desk and your upgrade ticket will be replaced with your old economy class ones... ENJOY!

How are the services? I would have thought stewardess would be extra polite and friendly on this class, besides doing a job well done, some of their attitude and snobbiness were also up there somewhere. Don't get me wrong, this isn't my first experience on business class, other groups of cabin crews who served us on other occasions were awesome... but not today. So please don't take them the wrong way if you get some attitude from a few of them.
Another annoying thing on Vietnam Airline flights are their bad English accents, I feel sorry for those who don't understand Vietnamese on these flights because I cannot understand their strong English accent on the overhead speakers.

On another note we had an overflow of food, the seats reclined and we could lay comfortably flat with an abundant of games and Hollywood movies to watch (The Great Gatsby was fantastic).
Entree: smoke fish, prawns and chicken on bread. This isn't my thing, but others seemed to like it. It's chilled, salty and fish was raw.
Another entree: coleslaw, raw beef, chicken, tomato salad and capsicum.
Garlic bread and the soup was delicious, I loved it!
beef steamed veggies on rice, again I didn't enjoy this that much

udon, scallop and veggies
rice, mango, pork, mushroom and baby corn
Dessert: fruits, coconut tart, ice cream, coffee and tea
We were welcomed by pouring rain, it was humid and sticky but that's the feeling of being in Vietnam.

Persian Print

Pink An Phuoc Shirt ($20AUD) | Zimmermann Brocade Dress | H&M Blazer ($50AUD) | Windsor Smith Heels ($25)

I work at least 6 days a week and sometimes all week, so this is one work outfit of the week. I intended to post up daily OOTD, but with time constraints I am lucky to even upload one post a week, I would love to be more consistence.

I am petite so I love my “An Phuoc” shirt, which is fitted for Asian bodies, the gold & black Zimmermann persian print strapless brocade dress was a gift (and I love it, though I personally think strapless anything is unflattering on anyone skinny as me, hence to hind all the boniness - the pink shirt brightened up this dress and covered up my cleavage so it's appropriate for work), H&M Blazer to keep warm due to the change in Melbourne's weather, and to finish off, these black strappy Windsor Smith with it's golden heels synchronized with this dress colour (last size 35 on special hehehe).

Mini to Midi

I have a soft spot for lace... but this mini lace dress, which mum bought for me from Vietnam ($10AUD) was too short.

TIP: have a short dress you want to wear but don't think its appropriate for any occasions or work? Don't make a fool of yourself and avoid exposing too much of your behind, just improvise, elongate the entire length with a midi skirt! Turn a "mini" into a "midi".

Where to buy this:

SKIRT --- thick white midi a-line polyester skirt, pleated with floral prints. Oh so feminine for only $15AUD, shipping was under $10 (maybe), sometimes they do free shipping promos - aliexpress.com... don't relate cheap to crap quality, because this skirt is of high quality, I dare say it's more durable then those fast fashion brands you see such as Zara, H&M, Forever New, Forever 21, etc...

Heels --- Nine West Women's Fanesa Pump (patent ivory synthetic). It was $50AUD with shipping from the amazon; though its got a mini heel beware the pointy toe and back of the shoe (due to constant rubbing while you walk) still hurts to wear over a long period of time. I bought two pairs in the same style, one in this colour the other in black, black was very comfortable to wear to work everyday it's now worn out. These are still looking new cause I can't stand in them for longer than an hour. Same cut but different fit. Online shopping doesn't always work out right?

Mossman Gorge OOTD

TEMT yellow lace top / H&M Shorts and thin patent belt
Hi! How are you doing?

It was a hot new years day in Cairns, so we decided to go to QLD's Mossman Gorge, it was a magnificent place, with fishes, heaps of tourist and cold clear waters, all surrounded by tropical rainforest.
The heat was expelled by the many canopies of trees … refreshing and cooling. I didn’t prepare any bathers to Mossman Gorge, so I gave swimming a miss.
Enjoy the rest of your days… ladies and gents stay beautiful, healthy, wealthy and wise

Wish You Wear Here!

Coach Sunglasses / GLASSON WISH YOUWERE HERE Swim wear

Hi! How you doing?

I’ve just arrived back in Melbourne from an end of year trip in Sydney, Cairns and Port Douglas. Our hotel apartment had a few good pools in Port Douglas, so what did we do once we found ourselves in the midst of all that glorious smelting sun?
I got myself into this poolside silhouette classic black and white polka dot one piece cut and started posing LOL! It’s a rare site for me to be in bathers, due to my embarrassing no bust flat silhouette frame. And am not a fan of tanning, its just the culture I’ve been brought up in, it’s taught me beauty is when you’re purely white inside and out – stuff that mumbo jumbo! Tan or not, I’m going in for a swim (even though I don’t know how to).

I love this one piece, it reminds me of the era when female became more liberated with their bodies, showing off what great curves they had. It’s of vintage and retro flash back to the 1940s and 1950s, this great rendition of a piece was bought from “GLASSON” on special for $25 (last size 6, bargain! It made my day). This was from their 2012 Swimwear Collection under the brand “WISH YOUWERE HERE”.

How did you spend you holiday? What is your favourite sort of swimwear?

Enjoy the rest of your days… ladies and gents stay beautiful, healthy, wealthy and wise
