EDGY TRANSITION

Just trying an edgier look to transition from cool to warmer weather since Spring is in the air in Melbourne - hayfever season = spring.

OOTD:

Crop top and dual texture coats are so in this season. I somehow stumbled upon a free TEMT top from my teenage cousin and a free oversized 90's "Miss Sixty" puffy coat with fur lining (very warm). My grandma got a huge bag of old stuff from a friend who wanted to give all her old clothes away, grandma kept some of the warmer clothing and then transferred the rest to the "Salvos", hence this is shared now between me and grandma lol.

I predict bloggers and fashionistas in the Northern hemisphere will sport a lot of the dual textured coats this winter; any material or length jacket incorporated with fur/wool/leather/etc. collar or vice versa will be seen everywhere. And of course oversized coats and funky prints and patterns can't be excluded, or some will stick to sophisticated black and white.

High waisted distressed boyfriend jeans with paint prints - role them up to show some sexy ankles and of course to make them shorter without spending money on hemming... This was purchased from eBay for $15, no-one wanted to bid against me for a pair of ripped up old looking pants, which in my parents opinion looked like a rag. I'm happy with the style and fit, brand new with tag.

Two toned ankle strap sandal heels to give this tom-boyish look a feminine contrast, and to give me some height lol.

TIP:
crop tops are in, suns out, show some skin! cropped tops will make your upper body look shorter (good for people with long backs) + fitted high waisted pants will elongate your legs = change peoples perspective on your body's proportion. Add heels and some feet cleavage, voila you just added more illusive height.

me trying hard to suck it in hahaha...

Salvatore Ferragamo Black Rain Boots

black hat | TEMT crop top | Forever New tights | Black Rivet real leather jacket | Ojay Coat | Black Salvatore Ferragamo Rain Boots | Ralph Lauren Sunglasses

I found another good eBay seller: SHOPITLA (trust worthy with 100% rating from the USA)!

Just wanted to show off my Salvatore Ferragamo Black Rubber Rain Riding Knee High Boots for under $140 AUD (+ shipping) from SHOPITLA.  It took a lot of convincing from some fashionista friends for me to even consider paying this much for gumboots... oh and Melbourne's PMS weather also helped trigger this buy; it can go from sunny to pouring rain in an instance here.

Brand new Salvatore Ferragamo Rain Boots is about $399USD, so yes I consider this purchase a bargain - some of my friends have paid over $100 for Melissa boots.

When my grannies and parents saw me in these and said "are you going fishing or farming?" LOL... I replied it's style! Oh wells beauty is in the beholder and I am happy with my purchase cause it was literally brand new (sample pair made in Italy) with bag in my size (size 5AU) - which fits me comfortably.
The rubber black material is true to it's description but I love how people mistaken it for real leather boots.

Can you guess what was the most expensive thing I wore? Ralph Lauren polarised Sunglasses - It was a splurge because I rarely buy anything at full price but due to some UV and skin cancer commercial it urged me to actually go and get a new pair to replace my old broken Coach ones (which I accidentally sat on a year ago).
With glasses wear experience, I don't think I can buy a pair without trying it on. I have a small asian head with a low bridge nose, so its tough finding something that fits comfortably without falling off. I would compromise comfort over style in this department.

Boxy Winter

My weekend doesn't start until Saturday noon, seeing as I still work from 9am-1pm every week. To compansate for looking professional on week days, I mix my Saturday attire to look more laid back and comfortable. It's not obvious but Melbourne is currently averaging 10 degrees Celsius during the day so keeping warm is my absolute priority.

OOTD:
     Top
  • H&M wool oversized boxy coat - XS in size but it looks huge on me, though the armpits fit perfectly. I love this coat because its warm, comfortably fitted and the patterned lining inside looks so sophisticated. It was on special for $33AUD at Malaysia's H&M autumn winter 2013 collection sale
  • White oversized button up knit sweater was an item I got at a night market in China back in 2008, the weather was getting cold and I needed something cheap and quick so I got it for about $5
  • Temt loosely fitted sleeveless turtleneck top was from my mums wardrobe, again keeping me warm, comfortable and presentable for half a day of weekend work.
     Bottom
  • Forever 21 high waisted ankle trouser - I got this on sale in Malaysia for about $10AUD, though it's a little loose I don't mind, it never fell off and the length was just right so I didn't have to alter it. I've never had to iron these pants which is a double plus in my books.
     Shoes
  • Massimo Dutti black patent contrast leather flats - I love these shoes cause they had it in my size (35) and once I broke into them, they are very comfortable to walk in, can easily be paired with a lot of styles. I like the tassels, cow leather and horse hair contrast because they compliment well with each other, giving it some texture on top of all this dull black.
     Bag
  • Salvatore Ferragamo black vintage leather bag on gold chain - simple and versatile, this is my go to bag when I'm in need of a small cross body or shoulder bag, I won this a few years back on eBay for about $120AUD with shipping, and haven't regretted this buy :)

Mossman Gorge OOTD

TEMT yellow lace top / H&M Shorts and thin patent belt
Hi! How are you doing?

It was a hot new years day in Cairns, so we decided to go to QLD's Mossman Gorge, it was a magnificent place, with fishes, heaps of tourist and cold clear waters, all surrounded by tropical rainforest.
The heat was expelled by the many canopies of trees … refreshing and cooling. I didn’t prepare any bathers to Mossman Gorge, so I gave swimming a miss.
Enjoy the rest of your days… ladies and gents stay beautiful, healthy, wealthy and wise
xox take care :)
